ASB / Student Leadership

Elementary K-5:

At Waterville Elementary we have the mission to Cultivating Leaders Who THRIVE and the Motto to "Leave a Legacy". To reach this mission we use our energies to focus on three important concepts, Leadership, Culture, and Academics. To help us we are utilizing the tools and the practices researched and developed by The Leader in Me process. The foundation of the process is based on the concepts and practices found  in the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. These Habits and practices help develop the systems needed for continuous improvement.

Within our district you will observe our professional educators modeling these practices, and students working towards utilizing these ideas themselves. Students are empowered and have the opportunity to take on leadership roles, and we encourage students and staff to find their own voice. We believe the skills and practice  will help all students while they are with us, and more importantly give them the 21st century skills they need to be successful, contributing citizens. The Leader In Me process continues to provide the foundation, tools, and focus which enables our students and staff to continue to strive for GREAT! Go Shockers!

Upper Class 6-12:

At WHS and WJHS we are committed to our mission of Cultivating Leaders who THRIVE (Trust, Honor, Respect, Integrity, Valor and Evolving Excellence).  Mission is based on building personal leadership which will allow our students success in careers, college and any future endeavor.  Our leadership model is taught explicitly through the LEAD curriculum in advisory class in grades 6-8 and is taught and reinforced through advisory and classroom application in grades 6-12.  Every student at Waterville School has incredibly leadership potential and we believe it is our imperative to help all students find this potential and to nurture it.
